Glam up!

Today is more on the personal side...  I hope that's OK.

We recently joined an organization called HopeKids.org

Their Mission - Restoring Hope. Transforming Lives.

HopeKids provides ongoing events & activities and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition.  We surround these remarkable children and their families with the message that hope can be a powerful medicine.

"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as the expectation of something tomorrow."
- Orison Swett Marden

A couple of our other Mito friends had joined, so we followed suit.

It's a WONDERFUL Organization, I'm sure as you can tell just by their motto. It gives us a chance to do things that we could never afford to do,  that we don't fell comfortable doing in the 'typical' world, and do things together as a whole family!

It is really no easy task take Reiley out to activities like we did today.  Today we went to Noah's , for a Mommy and Daughter Glam day. There were MANY volunteers there from The Studio Academy Of Beauty who were doing nails, hair and make up.

First Reiley and I got our nails painted a glitter purple color. She loves glitter. She had pretty decals put on a couple of her fingernails too. She would've had them all done had I told her she needed to leave some for other people. Our friends Kelly and Kylie were there too, which even made it even better! Kylie and Reiley are two of three musketeers as I have coined the three girls, Kylie, Reiley and Mylee!

Then off to have make up done... Reiley is a SQUIRM Monster! The girl can not sit still to save her life. Thank you ADHD... (one of Reiley's long list of diagnoses)

She was able to sit still long enough for blush and some eye shadow!

And to give Kylie some big SMOOCHES!!!

While Mommy got her make up done, Reiley was bouncing all over the place. Kylie zoomed off somewhere and Reiley was desperately going everywhere calling out Kylie's name. I kept trying to tell her she was probably in the restroom. But she wouldn't listen. Plus when Kelly was trying to get her makeup done, Reiley kept trying to assist the gal doing Kelly's make up. Reiley wanted to help put Kelly's make up on. LOL!! Not sure why Kelly wouldn't let her... I think it had something to do with this....

A glam session Reiley gave me...Not 100% positive.. but pretty sure!

Finally we got her hair done and she ran off to play air hockey! Needless to say, her hair didn't last long! :(

Final step, to get photos together... ahhh but yes, in true Reiley fashion her mood switched. She was angry and yelled at the photographer. She DID NOT WANT TO SIT WITH MOMMY! Yes crushing to mommy. :(  After lots of negotiating by the photographer, La Dolce Vita Images who was so very sweet and understanding... She got Reiley to take pictures by herself first, then on a stool next to me and then finally in my lap for a couple. Not sure any of the two of us turned out.. .but we shall see!

It was a fun day and I got these snapped in the car of the two of us...

And the beautiful Miss Kylie!!

Afterwards I took Reiley to Build-a-Bear to use her $5 off Birthday Certificate.. we got two, last week we used one to get a free small pink doggie.

Anyway, Reiley's last G-tube change out the doctor ended up going from a 2.5cm to a 2.7cm so I had a brand new button that had expired (use by date) in March... so what better use? Put it in her new stuffed friend!

She chose a puppy (BIG SURPRISE) The girl that helped me was very sweet, she cut a nice little whole in it's tummy for me, I popped the button in and filled the balloon with water. The girl was cute, she says "Is that going to pop"? Nope, that's how her's stays in her tummy :)  I said in time, I will actually have to fill the balloon up with water.

Reiley was so excited! She couldn't WAIT to get the heart in the puppy. They sewed her all up for her and she made her a birth certificate... What did she call puppy? Zoey! Can you freakin believe it?! That was the name of the dog that passed away that she just instantly got out of her vocabulary... anyway... then she 'bathed' and 'brushed' Zoey. Of course she wanted all sorts of accessories, sorry honey, no money for that!! :(

Here is our new button puppy!

No the car did not come home! Wonder what that thing costs?!

It was a fun day, despite the whole not wanting to take a picture with mommy thing!
