I was thinking about the other day when I took Ean to the doctor and we started talking about how Jello and Silly Bandz were made... which then made me start thinking about who even thought about how to make Gelatin. I mean who looks at a pig, cow or horse and says, Hmm... if I extract the collagen out of the bones and connective tissue and I can then process it and make this stuff to make stuff thicken up.
I was reading Reiley "The Little Red Hen" about her friends who won't help her do things, she finds some wheat, plants it, grows it, harvest it, then takes it to the miller to grind up into flour... Who thought of this... who thought, wow, if I grind this stuff up it turns into flour, which I then can make into bread.
Do you ever think about things like that? I'm honestly not as impressed of things that are done today as they are usually evolved off something else. But long ago, what made people think of these things? I can honestly say I would never look at a plant and think, boy that looks tasty, let me Julianne some of that and throw it in with my chicken!
Things that make you go HMMMMM.
